Reporting Relationships

The Director of Quality Assurance and Reliability, APAC reports directly to the US-based Executive Director of Advance Manufacturing Operations.

Position Summary

The Director of Quality Assurance and Reliability, APAC is a seasoned leader who establishes and enforces quality assurance using advanced quality planning methodology in an out-sourced manufacturing model. The Director of QA leads and conducts reliability activities to maintain product integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities for Director of Quality Assurance and Reliability, APAC include the following:

    • Quality Assurance
      • Ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing quality systems and tools
      • Proven track record of managing a quality assurance team in a hardware product environment with a solid understand of EE, ME, TE and assembly process disciplines
      • Provide leadership in assuring consistent and predictable quality of product by developing and enforcing effective quality management systems, validation processes, procedural documentation and managing staff
      • Develop and maintain quality reporting standards and dashboards heavy on data driven analysis
      • Drive quality improvement initiatives using effective methodologies and tools such as PDCA, 4Q and 8D
    • Reliability
      • Identify and conduct product reliability programs with external labs and institutes
      • Manage a team of material science centric reliability engineers to develop world class product integrity
      • Develop product reliability standards, testing facilities and strategic partnerships to ensure product excellence
    • Customer facing quality assurance
      • Lead team of field return failure engineers focused on customer returns from APAC
      • Coordinate with internal and external global reverse logistics teams to develop improvement plans and implementation strategy
    • Leadership
      • Exceptional leadership skills to develop quality culture in the China team
      • Capable and desires global reach of management
      • Develops, trains and mentors assigned and cross-functional teams in quality systems and tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Material science graduate degree
    • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in quality, compliance and reliability
    • A minimum of five years of experience in managing a quality organization in product environment
    • Effective communication and high-level presentation skills (internally and externally)
    • Proven ability to direct resources, plan project activity, execute timelines, and monitor financial budgets
    • Ability to write clear and timely technical reports, summaries and project -related correspondence in English
    • Six Sigma black belt preferred

Location & Travel

Shenzhen, China

Candidate must be willing and able to travel to support project activities at supplier sites. The ability to travel to the United States, Asia and European destinations is required.
