As the largest maker of vegetable oil-based products in the US, our client exceeded $3.7 billion in revenue and produced over 3 billion pounds of finished goods each year. The company was a privately held joint venture between one of the largest Japanese corporate groups in the world and a Fortune 100 US agribusiness.

The Need

Our client was seeking to expand in the critical high growth markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa and needed a dynamic sales leader to drive business volumes and enhance its reputation to become the go-to partner for foodservice clients in these regions. This person needed to drive the commercial, financial, and personnel efforts to grow and optimize sustainable volume and profit within the regions. The role required a hands-on, results-oriented leadership style with the right balance of collaboration and influencing skills, both internally and externally, to drive a significant and winning presence with the end clients and distributors in the foodservice industry. The scope of the position included all customers and channels within Asia Pacific, focused on the countries within ASEAN, China, Japan, Korea, as well as the Middle East. The client had a strong preference for the job to be based from its existing offices in Singapore.
